MLB The Show 20 simulation: Colorado beats Miami to take series

With the start of the Major League Baseball season postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, we here at The Denver Post took a look at how the Rockies would fare in MLB The Show 20 on PlayStation 4. We will have a story for every game that had been scheduled until real-life baseball returns. Here’s a look at the virtual Rockies’ preseason preview. Entering Thursday’s game, the Rockies were 69-33.

The Rockies pitchers gave up 11 hits Thursday, but held on to beat Miami, 5-2, at Coors Field to win the four-game series.

Starter Antonio Senzatela gave up five hits and walked three in just 4 2/3 innings. Jairo Diaz (8-3) picked up the win in relief. Closer Scott Oberg notched his 33rd save of the year, his third in three games.

Colorado (70-33) has an 11-game lead over the Dodgers (59-44) for first place in the National League West. The Rockies and Reds (40-62) play the first of their three-game series on Friday. Kyle Freeland (9-5) takes on Cincinnati’s Sonny Gray (7-6).
